Skip the retyping.
We'll type it for you.
You already digitized the paper sheet with Grade Lens. Grade Lens Sync takes it the rest of the way, entering every score into PowerSchool, Canvas, Infinite Campus, or whatever gradebook your school uses. Open the app and press play. That's it.
"I love that Grade Lens turns my paper sheets into a spreadsheet. But then I still had to sit there and retype all 90 scores into PowerSchool, one cell at a time. It felt like I'd only solved half the problem." — The feedback that started this
Four small steps.
One quiet afternoon.
Sync reads a sheet from your Grade Lens account and types the scores into whatever app you have open. You stay in control — it only runs when you press play.
Pick a sheet
Sign in once with your Grade Lens account. All your sheets appear in a simple list — tap the one you want to enter.
Choose your column
Tell Sync which column holds the student names and which holds the scores you want entered. That's it.
Set the keystrokes
Most gradebooks want "score → Enter" or "score → Tab". Pick a saved preset or build your own — once per gradebook, forever.
Press play, walk away
Click into the first cell of your gradebook, switch back, and hit play. Sync types each score exactly where it belongs.
Build it once.
Reuse it every week.
Every gradebook wants keystrokes in a slightly different order. Sync lets you define the sequence visually, save it with a name, and pull it up whenever you need it — no retraining, no guesswork.
- Drag-and-drop action tiles Type score, press a key, wait a moment — chain them however your gradebook expects.
- Named, reusable presets "PowerSchool Period 3" stays saved forever. Two clicks to run it next time.
- Row-wrap for grid layouts Multi-column gradebooks? Set a different keystroke for the end of each student row.
You're always
in control.
A three-second countdown before every run gives you time to double-check your cursor position. Need to slow it down? Adjust the speed. Something looks wrong? Hit Escape. Sync is designed to feel calm, not automated.
- Live progress display See the current student name and score as each one gets typed. Never lose your place.
- Adjustable entry speed Slow it down for older portals that need a beat to catch up. Or go fast when you know it works.
- Global shortcut ⌘⇧G from anywhere. Click into your gradebook, hit the shortcut, done.
Works with any gradebook
you're already using.
Because Sync types like you do, it doesn't need special integrations or admin permissions. If you can click into a score cell, Sync can fill it.
…and anything else that accepts keyboard input. No API calls, no accounts to connect.
The second half of
the time-save.
Grading and then entering grades used to be two separate chores. Sync collapsed them into one. I literally leave my desk while it runs and come back to a fully-populated gradebook.
Our district is stuck on a gradebook from 2009 that has no import feature. Sync was the only thing that worked. I built one macro for it last September and I haven't thought about it since.

The honest FAQ.
Will this work with my school's specific gradebook?
Almost certainly yes. Sync doesn't connect to gradebooks through APIs — it types the way you would. If you can click into a score cell and press keys to enter grades, Sync can do the same thing, just faster and without mistakes.
Is it safe? What if it types into the wrong app?
You're always the one who chooses when to start. A three-second countdown runs before each session, and you can cancel with Escape. Sync only types where your cursor is — it doesn't try to find or control windows on its own.
Do I need IT approval to install it?
For personal Mac or Windows computers, no — just download and open. On managed school devices, your district may require an IT admin to approve the app. We publish MDM-friendly installers for exactly this reason.
What if I only need this a few times a semester?
Grade Lens Premium is month-to-month with a 14-day free trial. Many teachers upgrade for grading week, use Sync, and downgrade after. No hard feelings.
Does Sync count against my monthly sheet limit?
No. Sync only reads sheets you've already created in Grade Lens — it doesn't create new ones. Run it as many times as you want.
The last step
grades itself.
You brought the scores off the paper. Let Sync carry them the rest of the way. Start your Premium trial today — Sync is included.
